How I Have Worked to Improve Healthcare
While working at Cook County Hospital as a pulmonary NP I started a home ventilator program for the hospital to ensure that our patients had the equipment
they needed to stay healthy and understood how to use it properly. I also had my own practice as a nurse practitioner, specializing in pulmonary and critical
care. I am currently an active member with the American College of Chest Physicians and Central Florida Advance Nurse Practitioner Council, and am also
certified as a critical care nurse, which allows me to provide care to patients in intensive care.
Why I Love Working for Take Care Health
What’s not to love? From the wonderful patients we meet, to being able to provide convenient care to patients in this unique atmosphere - it’s the best
job I’ve ever had in my whole life. I love being able to meet people from all walks of life each day and to treat and help a variety of people.
Take Care Clinics are very patient friendly. I just love going to work every day.
A Memorable Experience with a Take Care Clinic Patient
Every week there is something new! Just yesterday a patient came into my clinic saying that he was not feeling well in general. As part of his examination
I took his blood pressure, which was elevated to the point that I had to call 911 so that he could be rushed to the hospital. His wife came back in to
tell me that he was being evaluated for having had a stroke, and she thanked me for ensuring that he received the appropriate care. My experience in
working in the intensive care unit for so many years has prepared me to be able to quickly evaluate the severity of the situation with my patients.
