Convenient Care Association President and Chairman of Take Care Health Systems Hal Rosenbluth Responds to Governor Rendell's Initial Comments on a 2007 Major Health Care Initiative

12.12.06

The following statement, attributed to Hal Rosenbluth, Convenient Care Association President and Chairman of Take Care Health Systems, is in response to Governor Rendell's comments on Monday regarding a major health care initiative for his second-term agenda that would insure more people, make health care more affordable and increase the role of nurse practitioners.

"The need for accessible, affordable and quality health care in Pennsylvania and the United States has never been greater. The Convenient Care Association, a group of companies that operate walk-in health clinics staffed by nurse practitioners and often located inside retail pharmacies, is focused on improving the current health care environment by offering a solution where nurse practitioners provide front-line care on patients' terms.

We look forward to working with Governor Rendell to bring affordable health care to more people throughout Pennsylvania. We also strongly support his contention that increasing the role and utilization of highly trained and educated nurse practitioners -- professionals who have long demonstrated themselves to be invaluable members of the health care community -- is a key part of the solution."

Hal Rosenbluth is Chairman of Take Care Health Systems, a leading clinic operator within the convenient care industry. With clinics throughout the country, Take Care Health currently operates 9 clinics in Pittsburgh area Eckerd Pharmacies.
